A spruced up initial

I keep seeing these cute mossy initials used in all sorts of home decor.  So I jumped on the bandwagon and decided I wanted on too.  While others have hung them from mirrors or shelves or whatever, I wanted to use my on the front door as decor until it was time for another fun holiday wreath.  This project was super easy, just super messy.

I bought a letter at Hobby Lobby and since my last name starts with a "B" I thought I would use that instead of my initial.  It's a pretty good size initial, about 30" tall.

Then, surprise, I headed to the dollar store and bought a bunch of bags of floral moss and hot glue sticks. ( it actually only took one bag of the moss, but I wanted to be prepared just in case.)
I began gluing and adding moss, until the entire letter (sides included) were covered in this moss.

And with the final touch of a satin ribbon, I feel like it's a masterpiece.  Because it is going on my front door and perhaps could be affected by the elements, I sprayed the moss with some great, sticky, super-mega hold hairspray (aqua net) to help hole to moss firmly to the letter.

I can't wait to get it outside and spruce up my door with a bit of spring!
