Refill anyone?

This is one of the best ideas I have ever seen.  No, it's not my original idea, but I am sure gonna copy it.  I hate having to buy a whole new jar of bubbles every time my kids spill theirs or use them up.  And those huge refill jugs are impossible to pour into the little bottles without losing half of the bubble solution to the ground.  So, here's what some clever person came up with, and I will for sure follow suit.  

I hit the local Walmart and bought a drink dispenser with a spout that is easy for the kids to use (and the best part about the dispenser is it's plastic, so if it falls, it won't shatter).  Add a little vinyl label so we all know what it is and now, those little rug rats can fill their own bubbles with less mess....hopefully. 

Now isn't that pretty crafty?!!!

Target Practice

So, those of you with kids of any age can relate to the trauma and difficulty of the dreaded potty training.  My boy is no exception.  I have almost given up.  Then I found something fantastic that seems to be working.  We are still not all the the way out of diapers, but I had to share this and hopefully you will find some gradual success too.

With my Silhouette cutter and some vinyl, I cut out an image of a spaceship and put it in the toilet.  It has now become a game of target practice.  Ahhhhh---pretty clever if I do say so myself.

Potty time has kind of turned into a game of sorts.  Who cares, right. As long as it promotes consistency!

Bathroom Art

I saw these signs in the Land of Nod catalog and I HAD to copy cat because I am not paying that much for a sign to hang in my bathroom.

So here's my version:

All I did was take canvas, paint it, and apply vinyl cut from my Silhouette.  

I was a little nervous applying the vinyl to the canvas.  It stuck just fine.  The red is Cricut brand, but the other colors are Silhouette.  My only problem was getting the letters perfectly straight and aligned.  I wish the Silhouette people would print lines on their transfer paper.  hint hint.

I absolutely LOVE how it turned out and you can't beat the price!  $5 for 3 canvases at Jo-Ann's and about $5 for the red vinyl (with a coupon.).  That's it!  Not bad compaired to $89 a piece at the Land of Nod.

Say Whatever You Want

I got myself a nice vinyl cutter and have gone a little bit crazy with it.  With quotes and graphics adorning my home, it's fun to change sayings periodically to keep people's attention.  Now, I have to warn you that although vinyl is cute to have hanging around, there is definitely such a thing as TOO MUCH! So I advise you to pace yourselves.  Here are a few examples of what I love to have around my home.

I added my favorite quote to an oddly shaped wall and it alleviated the need to hang anything else in such a troublesome spot.

I put this Minnie and Mickie in my kids playroom and they love to look at it every time they go in.

 This quote is in my kitchen above my doors

Another little thought in the hall by a light switch.  The switch was placed in a terrible spot on the wall so nothing could be hung there.  This was my solution.

And a cute one on the mirror in my bathroom to remind my kids in the morning when they are brushing their teeth, that they are special.

My favorite thing to do with my vinyl quotes is to put them on my front door for every month or holiday.  For January it reads "Baby it's cold outside."  I will make sure to post a picture for my Valentines one. 

The point of this is that decorating doesn't always have to be a picture or wreath or shelves full of Nick-knacks.  It's time to think outside of the box.  Get in touch with your crafty side.  If you don't have access to a vinyl cutter, or don't know of any place to buy one, we would be glad to make one for you.  Contact us for prices.
